Academic Coaching (K-5)
Children begin learning at a very early age. In addition, kids learn at all different levels and paces. In order to match your demanding school curriculum, we offer enrichment for math, vocabulary, reading comprehension, social studies, and science. We will do whatever necessary to ensure that every need is met. We tailor to your specific needs and work with you to alleviate stress and frustration.
Ultimately, we want the Hut to be your place, where you can pull up a chair and have a tutor there to assist with any specific problems you may have.
Study Hut Tutoring has been fortunate enough to have acquired all of the materials from The Reading Center, the gold standard.
Study Hut mixes learning in a comfortable environment with the latest teaching tools and strategies for success. Our experienced and patient tutors provide a wide range of materials with proven results. We change the activities frequently so students don’t get burned out with the material or the learning process. We want to challenge you and stimulate your brain through a cornucopia of mediums and strategies. We know you’re different and have a unique style of learning, so we work to complement your own style.
Reading Vocabulary
The building blocks of a solid education begin with the ABC’s and the 1, 2, 3’s. We teach Phonics in order to build a strong foundation in reading fundamentals. This means you won’t have to dot the same exercises over and over again.
Vocabulary can be arduous to many, which is why we stress the approach of learning how to use context clues to deduct the meaning of a word. In addition the tutors at the Hut have a great way of putting obscure vocabulary into words that you can understand. Heavy emphasis is placed on flashcards, games, and auditory/visual drills.
